THE NEW CAMERA

After lots of thinking I did buy a new camera, another point and shoot. Another Olympus. I did think of an SLR but it did seem as though it was a bit too complicated...or perhaps needed a guide with me all the time, a mentor! However as this is not possible I went to the camera shop half an hour away and talked to them. I went with a lumix in my mind but they thought the Olympus was the better one at the moment.

These rosellas visited our garden this morning and as I didn't want to get too close these photos are from a distance and I'm pleased especially with the second. The camera will bring the subject much closer too but haven't quite worked that out yet, a two stage process.
I'm so glad I went to the camera shop and didn't buy online. All the shop assistants are there to help in any way, just as well as I had a problem loading photos onto my ipad a couple of days later. I had done everything the same as the day before but the photos came out in gobbely gook fashion. Do you understand my make up word! Very fragmented. I had several very kind men working on my problem which they hadn't seen before. They said my memory card for the camera had been corrupted.... I had thought our home was very pure! Evidently not! I was given a new memory card with the thought if there was a problem they would give me a new camera. Well, all is well, no more problems at all. If I had bought online there would have been lots of emails, sending the camera back and forth etc.  I had two half hour trips to a local town, one to buy the camera and one for my help mission. I did have to pay a little more for it there but I have ongoing assistance if I need it, personalised help. And I'm supporting a local business to keep going in these difficult times.

I hope you all have a very happy weekend, at least doing some things you really love to do in amongst all the necessities of life!

  1. I agree, sometimes there is no substitute for personal service. Beautiful, bright photographs, what a thrill to have such beautiful birds in your garden! We don't have anything so brightly coloured here in Scotland. Have fun with your new camera X

  4. Thankyou Penny and Susan. The rosellas are gorgeous aren't they! This is the first time I've seen them here in the garden but we did often see them when on the farm. Xxx
