AUGUST BREAK, BLACK AND WHITE: WORDS AND FUNNY CATS AND THEN TOMATOES!

I haven't learnt how to take black and white photos with my camera, maybe I can't. I tried but just couldn't work it out so I've had to improvise.

Whoops, some blue here!

I've been feeling stuck with my art work so have been playing instead, just to get my imagination going and loosen up. I have found an artist, plus her books, who I can really relate too and have bought one on my ipad kindle...

Carla makes everything fun and this is what I'm after, to enjoy what I'm doing without any pressure to make things right.
The first book here is the one on my kindle and the first exercise is drawing cats. I'm not great at drawing animals so this is a bit of a challenge I can tell you. That is why there are cats featuring in this post! They are all a bit weird but perhaps getting less so! I think I might get the Art of Silliness,, might have to buy the real book I think.
My aim is also to improve my drawing and use the fun stuff to ....have fun, loosen up....

I began this study of tomatoes in my sketch book and began using watercolour pencils after my hour or so with cats and I can see the exercise has been worthwhile. And I've had a lovely morning.
Hope you have too.
