Just as we went to eat dinner last night the big one called me over, shuuushing me as I came...
He was just off our verandah, just a few feet away. he was very aware we were there and ready to flee....which he did!
Happy Birthday to Hugo, seven years old, I can't believe it!
How cool to see a kangaroo in your back yard! Where I am we have a lot of black bear, turkeys, deer, fox, coyote, but no kangaroo! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was exciting...they are fairly shy and do take off easily when they feel the need. I can't imagine having black bears wandering in, we have seen on TV them raiding rubbish bins and being too close to humans for comfort. Is this right where you are? We do have the occasional fox wander along our verandah, very cheekily. We have chooks now so do NOT want Mr Fox to visit !
ReplyDeleteThankyou for visiting! Mrs A
WOW, he is a BIG BRUISER of a Boomer. I wouldn't want to come across him unexpectedly.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandfather was nearly killed by one of those big fellas in the mid 1920's. He was clearing land on his farm in Western Australia and a big Boomer got rather grumpy. Fortunately my Grandfather had a kangaroo dog with him who saved the day.
Have a fab day,
Anne xx
This guy really is huge! We've seen him a few times on our way down the drive in the evening. He is just as big as he looks in the picture, if not more so!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, it's so amazing to think that Kangaroos come into your yard. We have to visit the zoo to see those.
